About Taiwan Theological College and Seminary

TTCS is one of three Presbyterian Church of Taiwan seminaries.  It trains undergraduates
and has graduate programs in theology and church music.  Through the Southeast Asia
Graduate School of Theology, students also pursue advanced degrees (ThM, ThD).

I've been continuously impressed by the both the faculty and the students.  I first taught at
Taishen in 2005-2006.  All The seminary is a nice blend of Taiwanese and international,
academic and pastoral, evangelical and ecumenical.  About half of the students are women.
A third are first generation Christians and perhaps 15% are the "aboriginal" (native) people
of Taiwan.

Student Life

Students typically live in dormitories.  They are involved in a variety of community activities:
daily chapel, prayer services, internships or field education, and student groups.  On
graduation, candidates for ministry draw slips to decide which presbytery they will serve;
usually they are sent to a rural congregation for two years before ordination.

Campus

Taiwan Theological Seminary (often abbreviated as "Taishen") is on Yangmin mountain on
the outskirts of Taipei.  The campus is beautiful, with an ivy-covered chapel, dorms,
classrooms, and one of the best theological libraries in the region.

Faculty

There are approximately twenty faculty members, of which I am the most junior.  Faculty
